Steal this dissertation! It appears that Contentville (which I first read about in a recent article in the Chronicle) may be selling people’s dissertations without the right to do so. E-Media Tidbits reported on Sunday that Contentville, which is a spin-off of Steven Brill’s media-watching magazine, Brill’s Content, is selling dissertations written by individuals who claim that they did not give Contentville (or their alma maters) permission to re-sell their content.
